The DC Swamp has been around for awhile. In January 1977, after George McGovern listened to the testimony of Ancel Keys and other doctors and scientists intent on promoting the unsupported Dietary Fat-Heart hypothesis, the Committee published the “Dietary Goals for the United States” recommending that all Americans reduce their fat, saturated fat and cholesterol consumption, and increase their carbohydrate consumption to 55-60% of daily calories. Not a single real medical study was ever done to support it. Many Doctors at the time passionately disagreed. We have been living it as a Nation for over 40 years and have paid a deadly price.
“It was Senator George McGovern’s bipartisan, nonlegislative Select Committee on Nutrition and Human Needs–and, to be precise, a handful of McGovern’s staff members–that almost single-handedly changed nutritional policy in this country and initiated the process of turning the dietary fat hypothesis into dogma.” It was all about politics. I don’t believe they had a clue that what they were doing would kill hundreds of millions.
In 1980, the USDA partnered with the Health and Human Services department to issue the first edition of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, which eventually became the USDA Food Pyramid. Still fully enforced in public schools around nation under threat of defunding if not followed. There is not a single “real” Medical Study ever done to support this chart.
Except for the sweets(sugar) on the top, this chart is completely upside down and obesity in America soon ran rampant as people believing and following the advice and Government regulations. Just like Big Pharma is making $billion off of vaccines they make billions off of disease caused by obesity. Big Food jumped on making addictive high sugar high carbohydrate processed foods that fill food store shelves and freezers today. You eat sugar and carbs…taste great. 30 minutes later you are looking for something to snack on.
RESULTANT….Hundreds of millions have died prematurely over the last 40 years from following these lethal government guidelines, this is not even counting the wasted $billions we spend on obesity health care.

It is processed sugar and carbohydrates that cause obesity, not animal fat. Sugar is added to virtually all processed food. The liver can only store a small amount of the fat they produce, the excess goes right to stored body fat. The evidence that dietary animal fat correlates with heart disease “does not stand up to critical examination,” the American Heart Association concluded in 1957.
I know many Doctors today still believe the 80’s dogma and recommend following the Pyramid guidelines…..mainly because they are too lazy to read hundreds of medical studies showing it not simply wrong and is often fatal. Or more probably they have become little more than an extension of Big Pharma drug pushers and life is simpler and more profitable by treating symptoms and not the disease. It is easy to say don’t eat so much, don’t eat fatty foods, and count your calories. How has that worked out for you?
I know reading this can be a shock because it is directly contrary to everything you been told growing up. Fact: Eliminate sugar and carbs in you diet and start eating unprocessed food; mainly protein (meat, bacon, eggs)and this will happen in a very short period of time.
How do I know…I just lost 30 lbs, down from 38” waist to 32”, in six weeks. But the real kicker is all those 10 Diseases of Fat people start to go away. I feel great. It was the easiest thing I have done. Two meals a day. Three eggs and bacon, Ribeye Steak and salad. Hunger goes away when KETO kicks in.
Don’t believe me…..watch a few videos and read a few books from the scientific community and Doctors. There are hundreds to pick from. I think they will tell the truth and address the lies. Some of these videos are long….on the other hand life is short.

As an avid student of nutrition for about 25 years, you're right about the fats!! Complete bullshit, we've been told, because grains are big commodities in the US -- as usual, follow the money. But while I agree fats are GREAT, not all fats are worthy of our love. The best fats are animal fats: butter, lard, eggs, meat ("lean" meat is tough, and that's stupid to want it "lean"!), coconut oil is okay, and some olive oil, but avocado oil is better than olive, according to some sources, and others say there's not a big difference. These cheap, crappy seed oils are what kills us now... sunflower, safflower, canola, etc. Just pure junk.
So here's what I recommend: PLENTY of veggies, and leafy greens ROCK; meats, but the KETO is a bit heavy on meat, you can go fine with 3 servings a week... Eggs are soooo good for us, for our eyes, and great protein, full protein... Lots of things have protein, actually, but not "complete" proteins... It gets kind of complicated sometimes, but... I say eat like your great grandparents ate, keep it simple, and learn about herbs and spices, that's the ticket, and plenty of good fats... I put bacon fat in a lot of stuff, for flavor, and savor. ^_^

Keyes first experiments used rabbits to test fat diet. He seemed to not understand that rabbits are vegetarians. So he fed them fat. what could go wrong? when called on the issue, he studied various countries diets vs. heart disease. interestingly he rather arbitrarily dropped certain countries from his sample and he found a correlation. he was a pioneer--in pharma-type data and sample tampering. I am very healthy at 75 largely because I read Dr. Atkins in the eighties. I wasn't fat but his teaching about carbs = inflammation is a life saver. congress called him a quack. f them.
