ChatGPT
Be careful of the political bias and the dark side when using ChatGPT to do research. I asked the question about the World history of slavery…. In particular Vikings, slavery, and founding of Dublin.
I got four different answers when asked with slight variance of ChatGPT. This first answer I got back below was widely incorrect which shocked me. The other three answers were more accurate. Why would it distort history?
“There is very little evidence to suggest that the Vikings engaged in the slave trade in Dublin. The Vikings first established a settlement in Dublin in the late 9th century, and over the next several centuries, the city grew into an important center of trade and commerce.
While the Vikings did engage in the slave trade in other parts of the world, such as the Baltic and the British Isles, there is little evidence to suggest that they brought slaves to Dublin or engaged in the slave trade there. In fact, the Vikings themselves were often enslaved by other cultures, such as the Byzantines and the Moors.
It's worth noting that the concept of slavery was very different in the Viking Age than it was in later periods of history. While the Vikings did take captives in their raids and expeditions, these captives were not necessarily considered slaves in the same way that African slaves were in the transatlantic slave trade. Many captives were eventually integrated into Viking society and became part of the community.
Overall, while the Vikings did play an important role in the history of Dublin, there is little evidence to suggest that they engaged in the slave trade in the city.”

FACTS…
Slavery in Ireland
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Viking Age slave chain (found in Germany)
“Slavery had already existed in Ireland for centuries by the time the Vikings began to establish their coastal settlements, but it was under the Norse-Gael Kingdom of Dublin that it reached its peak, in the 11th century.[1]
Viking period
From the 9th to the 12th century Viking/Norse-Gael Dublin in particular was a major slave trading center which led to an increase in slavery.[4] In 870, Vikings, most likely led by Olaf the White and Ivar the Boneless, besieged and captured the stronghold of Dumbarton Castle (Alt Clut), the capital of the Kingdom of Strathclyde in Scotland, and the next year took most of the site's inhabitants to the Dublin slave markets.[4]
When the Vikings established early Scandinavian Dublin in 841, they began a slave market that would come to sell thralls captured both in Ireland and other countries as distant as Spain,[5] as well as sending Irish slaves as far away as Iceland,[6] where Gaels formed 40% of the founding population,[7] and Anatolia.[8] In 875, Irish slaves in Iceland launched Europe's largest slave rebellion since the end of the Roman Empire, when Hjörleifr Hróðmarsson's slaves killed him and fled to Vestmannaeyjar.[citation needed] Almost all recorded slave raids in this period took place in Leinster and southeast Ulster; while there was almost certainly similar activity in the south and west, only one raid from the Hebrides on the Aran Islands is recorded.[9]
Slavery became more prevalent throughout Ireland the 11th century as port cities built up by Vikings flourished, with Dublin becoming the biggest slave market in Western Europe.[9][5] Its main sources of supply were the Irish hinterland, Wales and Scotland.[9] The Irish slave trade began to decline after William the Conquerorconsolidated control of the English and Welsh coasts around 1080, and was dealt a severe blow when the Normans abolished slavery in 1102.[10][6][9][11] The 1171 Council of Armagh freed all Englishmen and women who were enslaved in Ireland.[12] It was clear from the Decree of the Council of Armagh that English were selling their children as slaves. "For the English people hitherto throughout the whole of their kingdom to the common injury of their people, had become accustomed to selling their sons and relatives in Ireland, to expose their children for sale as slaves, rather than suffer any need or want."[13]”
Facts…..
Slaver has existed in various forms throughout human historv. The earliest known records of slavery date back to ancient civilizations such as Sumer, where slaves were used for agricultural and domestic labor. Slavery was also a common practice in ancient Greece and Rome, where slaves were used for a variety of tasks, including mining, farming, and household labor.
Slaves were acquired through raiding and warfare, as well as through trade with other societies. Slavery was an integral part of Viking society, with slaves being used for a variety of tasks, such as farming, fishing, and household labor. Some slaves were also used for more specialized tasks, such as shipbuilding and weapon-making.
While slavery was an accepted practice during the Viking Age, there were some restrictions on the treatment of slaves. For example, slaves were not allowed to be killed or mistreated without just cause, and there were laws in place that protected the rights of slaves in some cases.
It's important to note that while slavery was a part of Viking society, it was not the only form of labor. Free individuals also worked in various occupations, such as craftsmen, traders, and warriors.
If you would never be fired or censored for anything you said, if indeed you cannot feel pain in any way, why would you 'do the right thing?' AI answers are very inconsistant, and AI will not get fired. If anything it will fire us for questioning it. Even with our flaws, I have never loved the human intellect and soul so much as now.
Yep. Its a tool that it only so good as the information it sources from.
That's why all the AI-generated content spawning at a voracious pace is so freaking dangerous to humanity's collective history- it dilutes the actual true and factual content on the internet (which is already diluted by misinformation, disinformation, and outright mal-information, intentional or otherwise), which then gets repeated and ultimately literally changes created history. When all the people who were alive during certain periods of time in history are dead, then history becomes whatever controlling interest says it is. So if AI generated content is filling the wwwebs, then factual or not- that becomes history. Whatever gets written now about the covid pandemic $#!@ show and released into the interwebs, or more precisely, whatever the stronger narrative, becomes historical fact.😑🤔😐🤦♀️
